The community of New Plymouth, Idaho is holding their annual auction in remembrance of Robert Manwill. The Robert Manwill Artists for Kids Auction is on Friday, April 29, 2016 in New Plymouth, ID.
The life and death of Robert Manwill, a 8-year old boy that died from abuse by his mother and her boyfriend in 2009 is one that the New Plymouth community will never forget. In an effort to remember Robert Manwill and continue to turn his death into a legacy of education and transformation, the annual Artists for Kids will begin at 6:30 pm on April 29th at the Payette County Fairgrounds in New Plymouth, Idaho.
Every year, funds are raised through a collaboration of artists and community members and are added to a scholarship fund for Manwill’s class, who will graduate in 2019. Since the auction began, the community has raised over $26,000. Four Rivers Healthy Community, a local non-profit organization, manages the funds through their community foundation program.
Numerous donated works of art will be auctioned off during the annual fundraiser on the April 24th. Several of the items can be viewed at Four Rivers Healthy Community’s website at: http://www.4rhc.org/#!robert-manwill/clfl
This year, local metal artists Pattie Young and Travis Emmen collaborated by hosting a sculpture/metal workshop with area students to create unique pieces of reclaimed metal art. Those pieces will be auctioned off at the event, as well.
